Addressing hordes of partisans, APC Western Region PRO Abubakarr Daramy stressed that non violence and unity can bring the party to power.
On his part former Mayor of the Freetown Municipality, Herbert George Williams blamed the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party in murder case of late Journalist Ibrahim Samura. He could not explain how the ruling party influenced the said case that has been concluded without a guilty verdict.
This revelation surfaced during a meeting held at the party headquarters, yesterday, graced by party stalwarts including the Opposition Leader in the House of Parliament, Hon. Chernor Maju Bah and the Secretary-General of the party, Amb. Foday Yansaneh.
Addressing the crowd of supporters, Herbert George Williams said the SLPP is after him, referencing that his name was included in the GTT report released by this administration. He explained to them that since the previous presidential election, he has been jailed twice and arraigned four times all because of his party, he maintained.
Abubakarr Daramy hollered: “APC will return to power by any means necessary”, he shouted, bluffing that the party is ready to defend its members like what it did to them throughout their detention at the maximum prison.
According to the Opposition Leader in Parliament, Hon. Chernor Bah, free and fair election, will make their party victorious in 2023.
Amb. Foday Osman Yansaneh called for continued support and unity amongst their supporters, noting that their presence during the trial was commendable.
He alleged that there was an attempt to kill Poalo Conteh, former Minister of Defense under the APC regime, whilst in prison together with Herbert and Daramy.
Their legal representative, lawyer Lansana Dumbuya attributed the conviction of his clients to the will of God, noting that they suffered in prison because of their support for the party.
Lawyer Dumbuya earlier had a meeting in one of the party offices to declare his intention to run for the position of party Secretary-General; a position he is aspiring aspiring for the third time.
It could be recalled that Herbert George Williams and Abu Bakarr Daramy were in prison for eleven months and seven days on murder charge for allegedly killing Editor of New Age Newspaper, Ibrahim Samura.
