Ex- Sierra Leonean goalkeeper, Alhaji Sesay has been faced with a 10 years jail term, after been charged for subjecting two women to serious sexual assaults in a night club toilets at Bristol Crown Court in UK. He denied any wrongdoing.
The young professional goal Keeper was in the Sierra Leone side during the (1-0) defeat in Ethiopia during the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Sesay 22 years was convicted on one count of rape and two of attempted rape against two separate women following a three week trials at Bristol Crown Court and was found guilty.
He was charged in connection with the offence in Bristol and London in August 2020. After being arrested and released under Police investigation, he targeted a second woman in the female toilet of the same night club in London.
During, the sentence hearing HHJ Cullum told Sesay that he is a rapist and sexual predator who used “a veneer of charm and flirtatious behavior” to put himself close to women who he perceived to be targeting. He said his action had significantly affected both victims with one of them suffering severe psychological harm.
Alhaji Sesay was again arrested on the 11 July, 2019 following an incident at Mbargo night club, on the Triangle, Bristol, after he trapped a women in a toilet cubicle and attempted to rape her.
Sesay was born in Sierra Leone and started his football career with local club FC Kallon.
