BO POLICE ARRESTS MAN WITH OVER 128 ‘BATTA’ DIESEL

Police officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department at the Bo West Police Division mounted a robust investigation into the circumstances surrounding the possession of over one hundred twenty eight Jelly cans allegedly filled with diesel by one Mohamed Mansaray a resident in Bo.

According to the Police Media Boss in the South, Inspector Mohamed Bobson Senu, the Crack Squad of the Police in Bo arrested the large quantity of the petroleum product in the Vehicle with the registration number ARD 103 that was in control of Mohamed Mansaray a driver.  

He said that the suspect was driving the vehicle along the Kandeh Town section in Bo when he was intercepted by the Crack Squad but could not stop and was chased, and later arrested.

The Police reportedly thoroughly searched the vehicle in question and found over one hundred and twenty eight jelly cans filled with Diesel, and engine oil suspected to have been stolen.

Residents of Bo have lavished praise on the police in their district for being so robust to arrest the driver with the alleged stolen petroleum product. The arrival of the new Assistant Inspector General of Police in the person of Fayia Sellu, has heightened Police alertness in tracking down criminals that have been causing sleepless night for the people of Bo and its environs.

According to Julius Sowa, a resident at Kandeh town in Bo said “we are now expecting the police to find out where Mohamed bought or stole the fuel from, as we await the result of the investigation.”

The Civil Society Activist in Bo said they will follow up on the investigation so that the public will be adequately informed about why the suspect was in possession of the large quantity of fuel and why he ran away when he saw the police.
