The former Procurement Analyst, Ibrahim Bah was allegedly assaulted by the Chief Security Officer of Petroleum Products Company at Kissy Mohamed Jabbie and Osman Jabbie. Both accused persons were on the 15th February,2023 arraigned before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No.1 for allegedly assaulting and wounding the complainant.
The accused persons appeared before the court on two counts charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and wounding contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
It was alleged that on Tuesday 1 February 2023 at the Petroleum Products (APP) Kissy Dock-Yard in Freetown, both accused persons assaulted and wounded the complainant in a manner thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.
Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) O.M. Bangura, first prosecution witness (PW1) Ibrahim Bah recognized the accused as security guards working for Petroleum Products Company situated at Kissy Dock-Yard in Freetown.
Mr Bah continued that on that date of the alleged incident he was in his office when the second accused, Osman Jabbie shouted his name Bah! Bah!
PW1 said he advised the second accused to stop shouting his name in such manner since he was inside his office.
“My lord I was still advising him when he (second accused ) rushed at me and slapped me on my right jaw,’ he said
He said the second was also accompanied by the first accused, Mohamed Jabbie and they started beating him until they thrown him outside the building.
He said during the fracas, he lost four thousand, two hundred United States dollars ($4,200) including his two mobile phones Nokia 820 valued at three thousand Leones (NLe3, 000).
The witness detailed the bench that on the same day, he reported the matter to the Kissy Police Station, where he was issued with a police medical request form for treatment at the Rokupa Government Hospital in Wellington Freetown. The medical paper was produced, tendered and marked as exhibit Z.
Mr Bah concluded his evidence that he returned with the endorsed medical paper to the police station where he made a statement.
Defence counsel M. Rashid Esq representing the accused cross examined the witness on behalf of his client.
The accused are still on bail and the matter was adjourned to 21st February 2023.
