Two Accused Denied Bail For Stealing Petrol

Two accused persons, Shofumie Smith and Mohamed Tarawalie have been denied bail by Magistrate Alpha Rashid Jalloh of Magistrate Court No. 4 for stealing 20 liters of petrol valued at NLe390.

The accused persons are standing before the court on two counts charges of conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

The particular of charges states that both accused persons on Wednesday 25th January 2023, at Dundas Street in Freetown conspired with other persons unknown to commit a crime.

Count two stated that both accused also on the same date and place stole 20 liters of petrol valued at three hundred and ninety Leones (NLe390) which is said to be the property of Momoh Sheku Kamara Esq.

The accused persons were remanded at the Male Correctional Center and the matter was adjoined to 14th February 2023 for further hearing.
