The Sierra Leone People’s Party Southern Region Chairman, Alhaji Kanja Sesay, has spoken of developments and accomplishments in his region and assured President Julius Maada Bio of the collective resolve of people in the four districts in the south to overwhelmingly vote for him and the SLPP in the June 24 Presidential and General Elections.
Mr. Sesay was speaking at the SLPP National Delegates’ Conference at Bintumani in Freetown,where he also catalogued the stunning political and electoral developments in his region.
Mr. Sesay was full of praises for the people of the south and gave an upbeat assessment of the Regional Executive’s vision and strategy for the 2023 elections,adding that the south prides itself in being the region that conducted the most peaceful lower level elections.
He said despite the acrimony generated by the regional elections, the SLPP in the region did not implode but had in fact exploded into life with renewed determination to bury the hatchet and to ensure an overwhelming first-round victory for President Bio.
Mr. Sesay went on to say that Bo,Bonthe,Moyamba and Pujehun districts were inspired by the tours of the President,the Vice President and the First Lady in their districts. He however lamented the loss of the Bonthe District Chairman.
The Regional Chairman concluded by informing the conference that the opposition APC only has an infinitesimal presence in one district in the south but assured that that pocket of electoral resistance will be eliminated in the June 24 elections.
