Hassan Sesay has made his first appearance on the 16th March, before Magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba Road court in Freetown to answer to three count charges ranging from Wounding with intent, Wounding, and Assault Occasioning Actual bodily harm, all contrary to Law.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged that on the 31st January 2021 at No. 55 Leicester Road Freetown, accused maliciously wounded and assaulted Adeline Wilson with intent to commit bodily harm.
The witness Adeline Wilson said he knew the accused person as they stayed in the same community, and also recalled on the 31st January 2021 when the accused and others were barbing hair behind his compound. With his insistence for the accused that was being barbed to rise and leave, he stretched his hands towards him and felt a sharp pain of razor blade laceration. He started blood started oozing from his lacerated hands and the accused ran away.
The witness said he then went to the New England Ville Police station and reported the matter, where he was provided a medical report form that he took to the Satellite Hospital and received stitches.
On the same day, second Police Witness DPC 15140 Samura M. attached at the criminal investigation Department New England Ville police station said he recognized both the accused person and complainant. He said on the 31st January 2021, the complainant went to the station and made report and she issued with police medical form to him and he later returned the form and on the 1st February, 2021. She said she took statement from both complainant and accused person and their witnesses. Whereas, DPC 15189 Kamara F. S. questioned the accused person in krio and he recorded it in English. It was read to him again in krio; he accepted that it was true and correct she signed, and recorded. It was witnessed by DPC Kamara F.S
Prosecuting the matter is Inspector I Macfoy. The matter has been adjourned to 24th March, 2021.
