In the bid of providing a peaceful atmosphere ahead of the June 2023 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) assured of treating several petitions with utmost concern among the sixteen electoral districts in the country during a press release on Wednesday 18th January 2023.

The statement revealed that they mounted several petitions within the sixteen electoral districts except for Bombali, Moyamba and Kailahun, particularly during the conduct and outcome of the All Peoples Congress Party Constituency Executive elections that stormed their table in recent times. Political Party Regulation Commission advised the Transitional Interim Independent Electoral Management Committee (TIIEMC) to put on pause the District Executive Elections scheduled for tomorrow Thursday 19th January 2023. They stated that the APC Constituency Executive election will not hold until all petitions have been heard and determined.

PPRC apprised that the Chairman and Secretary of the ITGC, the Chairman and District focal persons of the Transitional Interim Independent Electoral Management Committee, and the Chairman of the Subcommittee of the ITGC on registration are admonished to stay outside of the Commission’s Conference room; adding that the Commission will not allow any other individual at the hearings apart from the petitioners and Party Officials.
