After parting ways with Abdul Raman Turay Wusum Stars Football Club on 13th January 2023 has appointed Mohamed Lamin Kamara as their new head Coach for the rest of the season.
The Club announced this through a Press Release where they stated that the Management of Wusum Stars has appointed Mohamed Lamin Kamara, the former East End Lions FC, and the current National U-17 Coach as head coach f on a short-term contract.
The Press Release said that Management wants to assure the fans of Wusum Stars FC that they will do everything possible to restore the glorious days of the Club.
Mohamed Lamin Kamara has been around Football for some time, being the current head coach of Sierra Leone Under -17 side which he guided and finished in the Semi-final of the WAFU U-17 tournament hosted in Mauritania 2022 and has previously spearheaded other top-tier clubs including Central Parade, East End Lions and East End Tigers.
Mohamed Lamin Kamara expressed delight over the current squad of the team which he described as youthful, adding the target is to finish among the top five clubs in the first round of the league “I’m delighted to work with a youthful and talented squad of this nature, most of these players aren’t new to me they have passed through me in one way or the other, and the major goal for the first round is to finish among the top five teams in the league log” he ascribed.
Coach Mohamed Lamin, however, pointed out that it is a big challenge, but also assured the management and supporters of the club of a quick bounce-back with a collaborative effort “It is a big challenge I have never stayed away from the Western Area and I have never stayed away from family, also I am taking over a team that is in the 18 position, but with oneness and support from the executive, players and supporters we will soon change the narrative.
Wusum Stars Football Club is currently seated in the (18) position with (5) points in the Premier League after playing seven matches in the Premier League.
