On Alleged Larceny: Driver To Face High Court

Musa Sesay a driver made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on the 29th August 2022 at Freetown Road opposite Mac Pharmacy Lumley the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Larceny; on count two on the same date and place did steal one color Samsonite bag cost one hundred and twenty pounds sterling,  one purple colour Asus Model Laptop computer, fiscal cash of one thousand five hundred pounds sterling all value the sum of forty five thousand four hundred Leones property of Lawyer Davida Laingay Bangura.

On his first appearance the charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty.

The prosecution led four witnesses including the factual witness.

Main while, giving his ruling Magistrate Gogra said having looked at the evidence he is of the view that the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence in order to warrant a committal of the matter to the High Court for trial. He granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area both sureties to be employed in a government institution one surety to be 50yrs and above bail to be approved by the Bench.

Inspector Mabel M Tarawalie prosecuted the matter.
