Susan`s Bay Fire Victims Blame EDSA

As heavy fire rendered hundreds of people homeless at the Susan’s Bay Community, the fire victims has indicted the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) of sending heavy current which they alleged is the cause of the fire incident.

They made this allegation on the 9th January, 2023 in which the Tripoli Community in Susan Bay was awaken with heavy fire that has destroyed properties and dwelling houses.

They went on to state that no lives were lost in this incident but many of their properties had been consumed by fire, therefore they called on the government and humanitarian organizations to come to their aid, as they are now in dire need of help which according to them, they have nothing in their possession and they have school going children whose uniforms has been burnt by the fire incident.

Speaking to this medium the Chairman for the Susan’s Bay Community Ishmail G Kamara said according to the information he gathered by the community people and victims it was alleged that the fire incident happened as result of bad or heavy current by EDSA.

He informed this medium that no lives were lost only few victims and heroes who helped in putting out the fire sustained little injuries and were been treated by the Red Cross Society.

He thanked the government and its partners and agencies such as the National Disaster Management Agency, Red Cross Society and Save the Children for their effort and support towards these fire victims as he described the incident a sorrowful and devastating especially he said for the school going kids and heavily pregnant women who now sleeps outside.

He also thanked the Honorable Aminata Sesay of the All People’s Congress Party who donated items to the victims involved.
