In his welcome address the training Director New Harvest Ministries Rev. Thomas Carney foremost thanked the leadership of the New Harvest Ministries for the laudable idea of refreshing the participants of the training in order to put the work of God on a sound footing for the year 2023.
He said although the Ministry is partially all over the World but Kono District is very close to the heart of the general Overseer of the New Harvest Ministries and as a result after the establishment of Radio New Song, by the Ministries in Bo, Kono was the second district to have a branch.
He noted that Makeni will soon host the third branch of the said Radio Station which is owned by the New Harvest Ministries.
The Discovery Bible study which he describes as the careful study of the Bible in small groups either in the Church or outside of the Church where God’s children get the opportunity to study God’s word and discover God’s heart or message for themselves is the new model of the normal Sunday school sessions in another Church Ministries.
Rev. Thomas Carney noted that the small groups for the Discovery Bible study should have at least seven disciples and at most fourteen disciples and a facilitator which other church Ministries referred to as Sunday school teachers. He concluded by distinguishing the Discovery Bible Study into two sessions or parts that is the one organized inside the Church is called leadership or discipleship and the one held outside the Church is referred to as outreach. Meanwhile the other topics for the training were treated by the other team member pastor Samuel Vankasay who is also a Pastor of the New Harvest Ministries Njala University Bo Campus branch.
