Sierra Leone Premier League strugglers Wusum Stars Football Club has on 9th January 2023 relieved Abdul Rahman Turay (Agina) of his duties as head coach just a few hours after the club’s thrashing against Mighty Blackpool.
The Statement from the Club state that “The Management of Wusum Stars FC has relieved their head coach Abdul Raman Turay from his duty as head coach of the club with immediate effect.”
The release from the club said the Management appreciates him for his contribution to building the club and wishes him good luck in his new adventure.
Wusum Stars Football club has now given Abdul Bangura fondly (German) will serve as Caretaker coach until the club eyes a possible replacement.
Abdul Raman Turay was with Wusum Stars in the last Premier League where they came fourth they were the most surprising team upset the bigger team in the Premier League, but the key among their problems some players break through and move to bigger clubs and their management failed to add to the squad that causes them where they are now bottom the league table of the Premier League after seven matches played with only five points.
Wusum Stars last played top-flight Football way back in 2011 and get relegated to the low division; they only gain promotion in the 2021/2022 season and they are the only club representing the Northern District of Bombali.
