For Drugging Okada Rider With KUSH: Man Sentenced To 10yrs

David Kamara, aged 26 has been sentenced to ten years (10yrs) in prison for robbery and using over powerful drug to commit robbery against a commercial bike rider (Okada).

In his testimony before the high court in Makeni, the Okada rider Chernor Barrie said the convict prevailed on him to drink something proved to be kush and rum before taking off for a hired trip to Mabura village. According to Chernor he did not want to drink but the convict prevail on him to convinced it. After the drinking session, they left.

“On the way, I started feeling pain in my stomach, he said, adding that he was feeling weak and sleepy. “I felt him trying to get me off the bike dropping me in the bush”, he told the court. 

The convict was intercepted by another rider in their conversation he lied that Chernor was his brother and that he was trying to help him. By then other riders had approached the scene and seized and whisked him to the police station where he was investigated and charged on three counts namely; Conspiracy to Committee robbery, robbery and Using over powerful drug to commit robbery. 

The Resident Judge, Justice Mohamed Bawoh found the accuse guilty on count one and two, and slammed a five years sentence on each count to be served  concurrently.
