The Theresa and Sheku Kallon Foundation (T &S) has boosted President Bio’s Free Healthcare Delivery by administering free medical treatment for over 60 children with various health complications across the fourteen (14) Chiefdoms in Pujehun District, Southern Sierra Leone.
The Theressa and Sheku Kallon Foundation (T & S) is a Sierra Leonean U.S based charity organization. In early October 2022, the founders of the T and S foundation brought along nine medical experts from the United States of America , where they embarked on a free quality healthcare service to locals in three out of the 14 chiefdoms in Pujehun District. The free healthcare services include the extraction of teeth, treatment of children with different medical complications, the aged, good health practices and other medical-related illnesses.
While in Pejewa township, the medical team gave toys and provided basic hygiene sensitization to the locals, including children. The team was able to treat approximately 60 children with various health complications. The team also conducted tests on the young people and administered treatment to those with serious illnesses.
In Kundorwahun Town, Chief Amara Kamara expressed their gratitude to their children for giving back to the district. He described the services as a blessing in disguise adding that, their native people including children, have been dying of common illnesses as a result of ignorance. The chief prayed for more services to be extended to other chiefdoms and communities. He also called on the Theressa and Kallon’s Foundation to continue their services, which, he said, is part of a government effort to ensure universal access to health services.
The team received a hero’s welcome in Pujehun township, where news of their philanthropist had reached before their arrival. The team donated medical equipment to the Pujehun District Health Management Team (DHMT).
In receipt of the medical equipment from the team, the head of the DHMT, Madam Pamelia Coker, on behalf of the government, expressed profound thanks and appreciation to the team for considering the sector in their package. She assured them that the equipment would be used for its intended purposes. Madam Pamelia also called for more donations from other descendants in the district and also from other partners.
