The BBC MEDIA Action under its Project Every Adolescent Girl Empowered Resilience or EAGER has organized its downstream Radio partners EXIT meeting at the Sahara hotel conference hall on new Gerihun road in Bo.
The meeting attracted at least eighteen member stations across the country including the respective station managers and two mentees each per member stations.
The EAGER National program named:”Wai gal pikin Timap (W G P T) had the objective of capturing out of school girls and to instill confidence in them to be able to make decisions on their own, and grab opportunities for the future.
The national programme was implemented by the aforementioned eighteen member stations for at least three years with so many impacts and with the view of the member stations rolling out the project or programs even though the project under the sponsorship of the B B C Media Action has ended.
Addressing the audience the program manager of the then EAGER Project Adekalie Bangura said the purpose of the downstream radio partners meeting was to evaluate the project as it has come to end.
He thanked all for supporting the implementation of the project and appealed for such trend to be maintained in the different member stations and the media landscape as a whole.
Anindita Dutta Roy is the senior project manager of the then EAGER Project making a statement she thanked all present as according to her, without the member stations the implementation of the EAGER project should have been meaningless. Her future hoped how the impacts of the project will positively eat the fabric of the beneficiary stations.
According to her the importance of the member radio stations cannot be over emphasized thereby describing the member stations as the lifeline of the BBC Media Action for the implementation of the EAGER Project and wished for the relationship, corporation and imparts to serve as the bed rock for the development of the member stations and the BBC Media Action by extension.
Meanwhile, topics treated during the meeting included: reflections on what has worked and opportunities for improvement for potential project, presentation of broad cast trackers and discussions, Group works (Mapping Continuity pathway broadcast plans and suggested monitoring mechanism application letters to mentees, Group presentations and integration of plans, pre- Asset verification, finalizing the continuity plan.
While the awarding of letters of appreciation to mentees during a social session climaxed the down steam radio partners exit meeting.
