Following the on-going voters registration process, the Dynamic Youths of the Sierra Leone People’s Party continues their voter’s registration sensitization and mobilization campaign at constituency 018, Gorama Chiefdom in the Kenema district.
Just recently, the Organization had carried out similar activities in over five (5) various districts within the Southeast region including Bo, Moyamba, Pujehun, Bonthe, Kailahun and Kenema.
This time, the Organization decided to extend its campaign project to the Gorama Mende Chiefdom in Kenema as a result of the low or better say poor outcome of voter’s registration from that region. The objective therefore, was principally to sensitize and mobilize residents therein to come out and register in order to multiply the current registration rate in that region.
Upon their visit, the organization met with the Paramount Chief and all the chiefs in the (4) Sections in the chiefdom (Kuallay section, Biatong section, Kaklawa section and the Famajo section). After presenting the purpose of visit, the Paramount Chief, Mabel Kanja expressed her appreciation to the organization for what she called “incredible civic development”, and furthered that no individual from this chiefdom had ever done likewise, she thanked the members and summed up her statement by offering prayers of empowerment and expressed hope for more of such amazing developments to her chiefdom.
Additionally, the organization was able to meet and discuss with almost every member of the said constituency and the chiefdom as a whole on the significance of the voters registration process to their livelihood, amidst the many challenges (including transportation and unfavourable roads) to access the neighbouring villages and chiefdoms.
However, the objectives which mainly includes mobilizing, educate and encourage residents of the said constituency and chiefdom on their rights and duties as citizens of this country to register and hence qualify to vote (i.e President Bio and the SLPP) in the next general multi-tier elections in Sierra Leone was successfully achieved.
The Organization remains committed to serve and promote the ideologies of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the Country as a whole.
