The Former Chairman, Leader and former presidential candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray lawyer has abandon him in court after failing to appeared for over six month in an alleged sexual penetration matter in court
Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, appeared in court but his lawyer fail to come again, justice S.O Taylor has informed the accused Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray that if his lawyers fail to appear on Tuesday he will withdraw the file for ruling.
Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, has informed the court that because he did not have money that was why his lawyer has abandon him in court, “I have learn my lesson” he inform the court.
The accused persons are charged with eight count charges of conspiracy contrary to section 43 (b) of the Sexual Offences Act (Act no.12 of 2012), sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012, as repealed and replaced by section 4 (a) (iii) of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act of 2019 (Act no.8 of 2019), among others.
Kamarainba is being tried on seven counts of conspiracy to commit an act of sexual penetration, intentionally meeting a child for sexual purposes, engaging in an act of sexual penetration with a child, among others.
His co accused, Marion Arouni is facing two count charges of conspiracy to commit an act of sexual penetration and aiding and abetting Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray to commit an act of sexual penetration of a child.
The indictment indicates that the offences were committed between 14th February to 31st March 2020 in two jurisdictions namely, Freetown in the Western Area and Kono in the Eastern Province.
The matter has been adjourned 6th September, 2022.
Kamaraimba appeared with nothing else than with a full set gray good luck Jonathan dress, poorly kept beard and cold-cap on his head. His eyes looked slightly reddish as he looked and listened humbly and calmly to the Judge.
