Parents, guardians and sponsors have expressed satisfaction over the gesture of the Proprietor of the Billys Preparatory and High School located in Makeni city, who has introduced a system of providing uniforms, t-shirts and badges for kids enrolled on the school this year.

Adams Sesay of Masuba Street told this medium that the provision of uniforms and the needful has helped reduce the burden they used to face when the school year commences. She and her friends commended the proprietor for such gesture toward her parents.

The Proprietor of the newly established school, Billy M. Kamara, an erudite lawyer and one of the young educationists in the region has said the school sees the need to provide the above-mentioned because of the economic hardship faced by parents due to Covid-19 and the global hardship.

“We have to contribute to the success of the President Bio’s agenda for Free Quality Education (FQE) which is calling for mass inclusion”, said the legal practitioner, adding that apart from primary school education, the school is rolling out, it also set up a well-structured syndicate for NPSE, BECE and WASSCE pupils with well-trained teachers hired to ensure the region acquires the best results in the forthcoming public examinations. He said one of the things that create the difference between his school and other schools in the city is the availability of computers to train the kids in Information, Communication Technology and a library facility for research purposes.

‘I will provide one set uniform to each kid enrolled with us to ease the burden on parents”, Billy assured Makenitonians.

According to him, education is pivotal for the development of any nation. He said for now they are starting with the preschool and primary school and later expanding to Junior Secondary and Senior School providing more spaces for Makenitonians.

The extra evening classes introduced by Billy’s school have been widely accepted. A private WASSCE pupil along Station Road, in Makeni, Alimamy Sulaiman Koroma disclosed to a-Z newspaper that he has taken the WASSCE twice expressing hope that with the high level of preparation he has seen light at the end of the tunnel that this time round he will get the five subjects he is looking for to proceed to the university for advanced studies through the Billys syndicate. He said most of the boys in the area have embraced the syndicate only awaiting its commencement since they lacked such an opportunity before now.

He said the Proprietor as an educationist and a former teacher himself will help impact so much knowledge into the pupils of the school as well as those offering the special syndicate. Aminata Turay has admonished her colleagues at the BECE level to keep away from watching plenty of movies and enroll with the school syndicate as a way of preparing for the exam.
