As the maiden summer school introduced by his Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio attracts more pupils and parents in Makeni, the District Supervisor of the President Bio Summer School, Abu Bakarr Saal has said three or more centers will be needed if the President were to repeat such gesture next year.

Mr. Saal told this medium in an exclusive interview held at the Benevolent Secondary School in Makeni that the main challenge faced had to do with the effect of the August 10th demonstration which prevented some parents from sending their kids to attend the free summer school.

He expressed his satisfaction over the large turnout, noting that at the end of the programme, prizes will be given to the first three best pupils as well as certificates will be awarded to the teachers for their role in keeping the kids busy during the holidays.

Saal thanked the President for supplying teaching and learning materials which he said have helped enhance fast learning.

The Registrar, Sheikh Kargbo emphasized that nothing like favoritism was applied in recruiting the teachers; he further noted that they were able to identify teachers who have been performing extremely well in their schools.

He called on parents not to politicize the programme but ensure their kids benefit from the President’s gesture.

It could be recalled that the Maada Bio`s Free Summer School was launched on 8 July 2022 and is expected to end in couple of weeks since schools are about to reopen.
