Students Testifies in Arm Robbery Trial

Joshua Kamara an IT student testified before Magistrate Marke Ngegba in Freetown on 1st March, 2021. The witness (Joshua Kamara) said he knew both accused persons Foday Kargbo and Lamin Kamara on the day of the incident. The witness said he knew Kekura Brima as the complainant.

Joshua Kamara Prosecution Witness 3 said he was in his apartment on the day of the incident when he heard loud voice down stairs; he moved out of his apartment and saw some men surrounding the security officer that were on duty the night of 27th August, 2020. Immediately, one of the thieves saw him and ran into his apartment. The witness said after a while, he discovered that his phone was missing.

The witness continued that he saw two people with Military attires and face mask. “After a while I saw the thieves going towards the security light, where they entered their vehicle and drove off.”

According to the charge sheets, the accused persons are charged with one count of conspiracy to commit a felony, two counts of robbery with aggravation, malicious damage and assault all contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.

The accused persons cross examined the witness. They challenged the testimony of the witness and also denied the acts for which they have been arraigned before the court.

Inspector I.G. Fofana is prosecuting the matter, and was adjourned to the 5th March.
