The recently relieved Inspector General of Police, Ambrose Sovula has said that the residents of Bumpeh Ngao Chiefdom in Bo District should not be annoyed over his removal from office.
He made this statement via a social media video addressing the people of Bumpeh Chiefdom.
“I want you to know that President Bio did well for the people of Bumpeh as he gave you an Inspector General of Police, Minister of Marine Resources and other people in other positions of trust”, I know you were happy when I was the Inspector General of Police coming to you. I was a statesman. I am happy because I am retiring. Those who are aggrieved of my removal please don’t be annoyed. President Bio did not do anything bad”, he explained.
Former IG Sovula said that the work of an IG is difficult and it is quite a heavy task as you get a lot of call from people. We need to thank God for holding that office, adding that ‘’ I am thanking God for being a son of the soil of Bumpeh holding such a sensitive position”.
He said that while he was occupying that position he served the country well and represented the police very well in other countries.
Former IG Sovula, however encouraged the people of Bumpeh Chiefdom to turn out in large numbers to register, as he put it: ‘’ Go and register, and if you do not register you will not vote.’’
