Chernoh Shaw a business man made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two counts charge to wit Wounding Contrary to the section 20 of the offences against the person Act 1861 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to the section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Sunday 24 July 2022 at Lower Kandeh drive off Wilkinson road the western area in Freetown Maliciously wounded and assaulted Tamba John Komba in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the accused person J.A Ansumana applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction.
And that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance.
He will not jump bail nor will they interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses.
He made his application pursuant to section 79 2 and 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
However, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum.
Sureties to produce valid identity card, one national passport, one surety to be employed from a reputable institution in Sierra Leone.
Bail to be approved by the Bench.
Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun is prosecuting the matter adjourned to the 17th August 2022 for further hearing.
