The membership of Class of 2006 has ended their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday 30th July, 2022 with the election of New Executive.
In his opening statement, Dominic Boima chair of the AGM, thanked members for their efforts with regards the growth and progress of COBA Class of 2006. He maintained that the AGM was organized to give members the opportunity to meet and look into their welfare issues. The purpose of the AGM was to plan how the association will move in the coming years and as well look into the provisions provided for in the constitution. He also He emphasized for the association maintain high level of peace and unity.
Mr. Boima also called on members of Class of 2006 to always support one another. He reaffirmed that Christ the King College (CKC) has immensely contributed to the success story of Class of 2006. The committee chairman catalogued developmental activities which class of 2006 has embarked on towards the development of CKC as an institution. He equally promised that Class of 2006 will continue to do more in projecting the good image of the institution.
The Principal of the Senior Secondary School (SSS), Mr. Edward Koroma, applauded Class of 2006 for their contributions to CKC. He noted that they are young people but have the school at heart. He recalled that during the outbreak of Coronavirus, the Class of 2006 donate food and none food materials to retired teachers of the School in order to cushion the economic situation they were faced with. He commended Gabriel Kpaka, Chairman Class of 2005 for his continuous support to the physics department and many other past students for supporting their Alma meter. The Principal encouraged the former pupils to continue to support the school.
Speaking on behalf of Class of 2005 regimental, Gabriel Kpaka, Deputy Director General at Meteorology who is also doubles as Chairman for the COBA Class of 2005, thanked Class of 2006 for organizing the AGM. He stated that Class of 2006 is been admired by other associations for their brilliant initiatives and their determination to make CKC great.
He further disclosed that the key essence of forming those associations among others is to seek the welfare of its members and contribute to the development of their school (CKC). Mr. Kpaka reassured the administration and members that Class of 2005 will continue to collaborate with other Classes and the National body to support the school.
He encouraged Class of 2006 not to relent but continue the good work that they are doing for CKC.
The delegates commended the planning committee for ensuring that they organized the AGM well and served food that they used to eat while they were students at CKC. At this year’s AGM, the following executive members were elected to serve for a period of two years:
Makaya Abraham Charles – Chairman, John Demby -Vice Chairman, Sandi, Eric B. Williams- interim Secretary General, Lawrence Gbondo- PRO Charlie Vincent – Financial Secretary, Mohamed Sillah – Internal Auditor 1.
A certificate of recognition of service was given to the outgoing executive of class of 2006. The occasioned was climaxed a friendly football match which was played between Class of 2005 and 2006. Class of 2005 defeated Class of 2006 by 3 goals to 1 at the CKC field. A reunion night was also organized at Family Guest House, Shellmingo, Bo City.
