A twelve years old girl Tenneh Conteh at Kuntoloh Community, the Eastern part of Sierra Leone’s capital, has been arrested for allegedly killing a three months old baby who is said to be the child of her neighbor.
According to reports gathered at the scene of crime, Micheal Bangura, father of the deceased child said accused Tenneh Conteh went to their house on Saturday afternoon and requested that his wife to dash her money of 1NLE, but the wife told her that she had no money with her.
Mr. Bangura continued that after his wife refused to give the accused Tenneh Conteh the money she requested, the accused then offered to help the wife carry her three months old baby whom according to reports she took to her parlor, closed the door and played loud music.
He furthermore explained that after a while the accused Tenneh Conteh then came out holding the baby fully wrapped with a wrapper, walk past the mother and went ahead to lay the baby inside the house.
He added that his wife then asked the accused to help her go bring the child so that she can breast feed her but the accuses refused to move, this then altered the mother to move inside the house and carried the baby herself.
Upon carrying her baby, she noticed blood coming out her baby’s nostrils, ears and the baby’s head dented, she then cried out “what have u done to my baby, why is my baby like this?”
Bangura said to their utmost surprise the accused Tenneh Conteh responded that “You have to bare patience ohh, the Lord that gave you the child has taken it from you.”
From reports gathered about the allegation levied against the accused the father of the child said the accused told them that the baby slipped from her hands and fell down.
Investigations are ongoing at the Eastern Police Division and accused has been taken into custody.
