The new Regional Media and Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone Police in the Southern Region, Inspector Andrew Aiah Mondeh has disclosed that they are waiting Dr. Owizz Koroma the pathologists to perform autopsy on six copses alleged to be murder cases.
Speaking to A-Z Newspaper at his office at the Regional Police Headquarters in Bo on Tuesday, Sub Inspector Mondeh explained that the recent allege murder case involving one man, Ibrahim Kargbo who is residing at Ahmadiyya Tikonko , Hill Station in Tikonko Chiefdom, allegedly killed his mother, Fatmata Kargbo, is among the six cases awaiting post mortem examination.
According to him, the police upon receiving the report, went to the scene and found out that when Kargbo killed his mother he buried her in his room
Inspector Mondeh said that missing of the old woman ignited concern by her neighbour but a twelve-year-old Epileptic boy, Sorie Kamara who lives with the suspect(Kargbo) and the deceased informed the neighbour that he saw the suspect taking mud into his room, urging them to go into the room and check what is happening.
The chief in the community was informed about the clandestine activity of the suspect and the area chief called on the youths to go into the room and dig out what Kargbo has taken into his room. He said that it was during the digging by youths they found out the corpse of the missing old woman.
Inspector Mondeh also adds that while digging out the corpse, the suspect ran away but was later arrested and is now in their custody helping them with investigation.
He maintained that they are awaiting post mortem examination to be conducted on the corpse and this is one of the cases waiting autopsy.
Inspector Mondeh said that the video of the man was on the social media and it is in the video he stated that he grew annoyed and killed her mother because his mother (deceased) accused him of taken her clothe (lappa) .
According to report, Civil Society activists are monitoring the investigation and are waiting for result of the autopsy of the other allege mother cases.
