The Member of Parliament for constituency 096 Honorable Simion Fefegula and the district youth chairman for Moyamba, James Kowie are presently under investigation for alleged assault. The incident took place at NP mini mart main junction in Moyamba, district.
According to the Member of Parliament Hon. Simion Fefegula disclosed that he was at the said mini Mart in Moyamba on Saturday 23rd July 2022 having fun with other community members.
During that incident he was discussing the electoral bill and the late coming of seed rice for agricultural purposes, adding that he mentioned the youth farm that was established in all 14 chiefdoms in Moyamba district where funds were misused.
It was during that discussion, that the youth chairman opened the VIP door at the mini-mart and told him he was saying rubbish and alleged that the youth chairman slap him on his face, closed the door and ran off.
Whereas the youth leader James Kowie told this medium that he was at NP mini Mart VIP lounge when he decided to go out to get a drink at the main mini Mart store, and upon his return he overheard the MP discussing youths farm fund and told him he was not saying the right thing and advised that if he wants to get information about his council office he needs to ask him.
He further that upon such advice; the MP rush at him and slap him, therefore he decided to defend himself in the event. Both the Member of Parliament and youth chairman reported themselves to the police in Moyamba. The crime officer for Moyamba police, Sahr Kabbie revealed to the journalist that both parties were given medical forms for endorsement and the matter is under investigation by the criminal investigation department.
