The Pujehun High Court presided over by Justice Alfred Tommy Ganda has sentenced a class six teacher of the Roman Catholic primary School at Nyandehun Village in Malen Chiefdom Pujehun District to Sixteen (16) years imprisonment.
The class six teacher Umaru Bah was guilty of sexual penetration contrary to section nineteen (19) of the sexual offences act of 2012 act number twelve (12) as repealed and replaced by act number eight (8) of 2019.
According to the particulars of offence the convict Umaru Bah sexually penetrated a fourteen year old girl of the aforementioned school at the teacher’s quarters at Nyandehun Village Malen Chiefdom Pujehun District.
The Particulars of offence furthered that the convict sometimes in May 2022 requested for the survivor to launder his clothes and take them to his quarters when they should have dried up.
He noted that upon the arrival of the survivor at the convict’s quarters, he again requested to make love with the fourteen years old girl on the basis of knowing whether the girl was a virgin.
According to the particulars of the offence the class six teacher who has prepared the fourteen years old girl for the National Primary School Examination wasted no time to drag the girl on his bed and sexually penetrated her.
Meanwhile, after sometime the parents of the survivor were not satisfy with the behaviour of their daughter and asked what the problem was. Affirmatively the fourteen years old girl told her parents that she was sexually penetrated by her class teacher Umaru Bah at the teacher`s quarters.
The convict is presently running his jail term at the Pujehun correctional centre.
