Sorie Kamara(accused)and his surety are on bench warrant for failing to abide by the rules and regulations of Court proceedings, despite granting bail for alleged Shop breaking and Larceny, the matter have been mentioned three times since the granting of bail which the accused and surety were absent.
The presiding judge on the matter is honorable justice Sulaiman Bah JA.
The accused is charged on three counts of conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law, Shop breaking and Larceny contrary to section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916 and being found in possession of house breaking implements contrary to section 26(2) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
According to the police charged sheets, it was alleged that Sorie Kamara (accused) on count one (1) the 4th May 2020 in Freetown conspired with other person unknown to commit a Felony to wit Shop Breaking and Larceny.
Count two (2) on the same day broke and entered the shop of Amadu Sow with intent to steal 4 Tecno Spark 4 mobile phone, valued six million Leones (6,000,000) three Tecno canon 12 pro valued six million six hundred thousand Leones (6,600,000) ten KG Itel valued One million Leones (1,000,000) with other items of monetary value to the total sum of thirty eight million eight hundred and seventy thousand Leones (38,870,000) property of Amadu Sow.
On count three, was found in possession of house breaking implements.
On the absent of both surety and accused, the state prosecutor AF Kamara applied for a bench warrant for both accused and the bench granted his application.
The matter was adjourned to the 26 July 2022.
