Leone Stars B team has on 6th July 2022 moved to Kenema to camp ahead of their CHAN qualifiers.
The team arrived at the Eastern Region Headquarters Town of Kenema for camping ahead of their 2022 CHAN fixture against their Cape Verdian counterparts scheduled on the 24th of July this year, in Marrakech, Morocco.
The delegation which comprised twenty – four players and twelve officials was warmly received by the locals in the City.
The team is currently housed at LUAWA RESORT HOTEL, on the outskirts of Kenema where they will stay throughout their camping exercise.
Several friendly matches with local teams as well as some Premier League Clubs outside the capital have been lined up for the squad during this period.
The National Home-based team held its first training session this morning at the Kenema City field ahead of their double header fixtures against Cape Verde later this month in Morocco. The team that arrived last night went into action and they were guided by Francis Zappa Koroma and backroom staff.
The training sessions are meant to provide the players the opportunity and at the same time gauge their physical fitness ahead of their crunch fixtures against West African opponents, Cape Verde Island. Leone Stars is in the Preliminary rounds of qualifiers if they beat Cape they will face Mali in the next rounds of the qualifiers.
