Following our yesterday publication that reported plans underway for a China consignment of COVID 19 vaccine, we can authoritatively state that the Chinese aircraft is enroute to land at Lungi International Airport today.
Government and Chinese Embassy officials will be at the airport to receive the undisclosed quantum of the consignment delivered to Sierra Leone.
Inside Ministry of Health sources say plans remain the same; initial administration of the vaccine will target the COVID 19 frontline responders.
It is unclear what will follow subsequently in extending the scope of administering the vaccine to the wider public.
In Sierra Leone there is mixed feelings about the vaccine inoculation which will require mass awareness for public receptivity.
