The Eastern Region’s ongoing Super ten football league on 3rd July 2022 recorded the highest scorelines in Sierra Leone Football history.
For the first time in the history of Sierra Leone Football, two official matches have registered the highest ever scorelines in Kenema and Kono.
Gulf football club manhandles Koquima Lebanon by 91 goals to 1, whilst Kahunla Rangers smashed Lumbebu United football by 95 goals to nil in the Eastern Region organized Super Ten competition.
Both Kahunla Rangers and Gulf Football club were on (32) points in the second and third respectively, hence the team with the better goals difference qualifies for the Premier League national play-offs.
It is not clear how such scorelines were achieved without the issue of match-fixing.
The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association Thomas Daddy Brima described the results as a disgrace to the federation, the worst embarrassment any federation can get, he said: “This is unacceptable there is going to be an immediate investigation should be launched.”

“Following the unprecedented and unacceptable display of performances between Kahunla Rangers and Lumbebu United Football Club in Kenema and on the other hand Gulf Football club and Koquima Lebanon Football in Kono in the ongoing Super Ten League, the Eastern Region Football Association has therefore nullified both matches with immediate effect.”
The Sierra Leone Football Association in collaboration with Eastern Region Football Association will be setting up an independent investigation committee to probe into this unfortunate situation and the public will be adequately informed.
