The National President Motor Drivers and General Transport Workers Union has strictly advised drivers and riders to be conscious when using the road especially during the rains.
Alpha Amadu Bah made the admonition during a day working visit to Kono District, and maintained that owing to the deplorable road network in the regions; riders and drivers are expected to be checking their motor bikes and vehicles before plying the roads as in an event of any breakdown or accident they will be in control.
Explaining the challenges facing the motor drivers and general transport workers Union Bah noted that political interference, fuel crisis among many others are some of the challenges the Union is facing.
“As the union is an apolitical institution, I expect its members to stay off active politics so that it can serve all and sundry”, said Bah.
