In a bid to fight against the rampant criminal activities especially theft in their community the Kpanga Chiefdom speaker in Pujehun district, Chief Sylvester Munda Kamara who also doubles as a Chairman Policing partnership Board has in a meeting engaged some stakeholders living in that part of the district.
The stakeholders who attended the said meeting were the policing partnership board members, office of national security, bike riders union, town Chief, the police, Pujehun District Youth Chairman, the Media and civil society were all present.
According to chief Kamara, the objective of the meeting was to discuss how to address the menace of thieves vandalizing peaceful citizens’ homes and shops thereby carting away property worth Millions of Leones. The Kpanga Chiefdom speaker maintained that the meeting was one of those held previously to fight against thieves who normally disturb people, especially during the rains when they do organize themselves well to carry out their dubious activities citing the present rampant theft that is ongoing in Pujehun District.
He advised police officers against taking orders from above rather than doing the right things on the ground.
“I expect everyone to be vigilant especially the youths whilst providing security for our communities,” Chief Sylvester Munda Kamara advised.
On his part assistant Superintendent of police Kainawa John Square attached to the Pujehun police division expressed satisfaction over what he called good preventive security measures taken against the reported criminals. He thanked the Kpanga chiefdom speaker for his mature leadership skill displayed in securing his people and urged everyone to support the move.
ASP Square assured the chief and the people of Kpanga Chiefdom in Pujehun district of their fullest support in securing them.
