The Head of Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association Ibrahim Kamara has on 28th June 2022 cleared the rumor that has been going around on the Social Media that the Runners East End Lions deserve a runner’s money.
He affirmed that every Premier League season has rules and regulations that govern it and all the Premier League clubs have consisted before the League starts, noting that it does not need to be an issue for the East End Lions Football Club and that the Premier League season has come to an end and the winner has been given his Trophy, Medals, and winners money which is (200,000,000 two hundred Leones).
On the 1st of June 2022, East End Lions Football Club write to the Chairman of the Premier League board requesting their runners-up money, in the Letter, they state that
” I write to request whether a prize will be presented to the Runners of the just concluded Sierra Leone Premier League as was done in the previous years, our records indicate that in 2019, the Premier League board awarded (150,000,000 one hundred and fifty million Leones to the winner and the runner up was given (100,000,000, one hundred million leones. I forward that all other teams we’re given Prizes,” “we recall a conversation at the start of the League in which the PLB undertook to maintain past Precedent on the same.”
Following BO Rangers Football Club being crowned Champion of this year’s Premier League in which they have given Trophy and medals plus a prize as Champion, this has a sparked the eyes of a lot browse with the Camp of the Runners up East End Lions. FC
Mr. Further that as a big club like East End Lions has reason to say that they are not going to part take in the inter-club competitions, by the expected East End Lions to be getting their team together and brace up for the Confederation Cup, that will be a boost to the players and to also expose their squad in the international scene and to also be among the clubs that will be representing the Country in the Inter- Clubs.
