The World Bank delegation to Sierra Leone has expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the bank’s funded projects by the New Direction Administration.
Speaking at a dinner organized by the Ministry of Finance the leader of delegation, the World Bank Director of Strategy and Operations for Africa (West & Central Region), Elizabeth Huybens, commended President Bio for the massive implementation of projects nationwide, despite the challenges the government is facing and further assured him of the World Bank’s unflinching support to fundamental reforms in Agriculture, Education, Labour, Gender, Security amongst others.
She also revealed that her team and staff of the Ministry of Finance are currently doing on-the spot visits to some of the project sites in the Northern Region.
“We can understand the challenges the world is facing today but we are grateful to the Government and People of Sierra Leone” she said.
The Chief Minister, Mr. Jacob Jusu Saffa, thanked Director Elizabeth Huybens of the World Bank for their massive financial support towards government programs.
He specifically mentioned the likes of the Munafa funds, cash transfer and many other interventions. He expressed optimism that World Bank would continue to finance Government Programmes in the country.
