Mercy Hospital in Bo City, Southern Sierra Leone has been given a facelift that will make it to be at par with other hospitals in Sierra Leone.
For the hospital to meet the standards of other hospitals in the country, the management of Mercy Hospital has added other facilities to the hospital.
The facilities added to the previous ones are 100 perimeter fence, a fully paved floor for patients and a spacious parking space.
It has also included squarely-like walk way that connects all buildings and departments to ease patient’s movement, 24 hours electricity supply and 42 solar panels of 300 watts each.
The hospital also has safe pipes that supply pure drinking water, as well modernized beds in all wards.
The Hospital has professional staffs that are always ready to attend to every need of their patients.
Mercy Hospital has a manager, Jinna Kachina Lahai.
According to Mr. Lahai, the Hospital was opened on 13 October 2007, mainly to provide medication for the child Rescued Center, now Child Reintegration Centre which sponsors children who need help.
” Because of the growing need of quality and holistic medical care within Bo City and its environs, Mercy Hospital through the head of mission decided to extend it services to public on a cost recovery basis for those who have the ability to pay while. its mission and vision remains untouched,” Mr. Lahai said.
Mr. Jinna Kachina Lahai informed the Hospital has provided free healthcare to children in great need.
He informed Mercy Hospital is not competing with any other Health facilities in Bo or in the country but they are doing their own bit to serve humanity.
He added Mercy Hospital is doing extremely well for which its patients both current and past can testify.
He disclosed since 2016 when he was appointed as manager, he has become the longest serving manager of the hospital.
He confirmed lots of transformations have taken place under his leadership.
Mr. Lahai further disclosed Mercy Hospital has been bringing foreign doctors to come and help the hospital.
He expressed optimism the Hospital will continue to excel.
He commended all those who contributed in one way or the other to give the hospital a facelift.
Manager Kachina Lahai called on the people of Bo not to stop visiting the Hospital when they are sick.
