In a bid to serve its customers effectively, efficiently and to be self- supporting the Sierra Leone Water Company ( SALWACO) through the approval of the new tariff structures by the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory  Commission (SLEWRC), SALWACO is implementing new tariff structures under the astute leadership of Ing. George Lamin Vandi and his dynamic staff.

This implementation followed after the Company has ended several radio discussion programmes together with two weeks public notice announcement on all SALWACO operational areas.

The Commercial Manager, Mr. John Carl Neel-Kamara together with the Communications Officer, Victoria Saffa were in Kenema, Bo, Makeni and Kambia together with Stations’ staff respectively discussing the benefits of the new Company’s tariff structure to its customers and potential customers.

During the Radio Discussion programs, Customers and potential customers were very participatory through phone calls and text messages to know why the Company decided to make increment on the tariff.

The responses of the Commercial Manager, Communications Officer and the SALWACO stations Staff in Kenema, Bo, Makeni and Kambia were able to describe the importance of increasing the tariff.

The new tariff structures for one cubic meter which is equivalent to one thousand litres or 44 batas of water is as follows:

Stand pipes- nine thousand  Leones, Residential house- fifteen thousand Leones, non-metered residential house- fifty thousand Leones flat charge, institutions (schools & hospitals)- fifteen thousand Leones, all other institutions- twenty thousand Leones  and water packaging companies is thirty-seven thousand Leones.
