38yrs old Captain Abu Bakarr Good Kamara made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on seven count charges ranging from Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on the 15th December 2021 at Hastings in the Waterloo judicial district the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of four million three hundred and twenty eight thousand Leones(4,328,000) from Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bessman by falsely pretending that you have two town lots of Land at Hastings for sale knowing same to be false on count two at the same place on the 17th December 2021 with intent to defraud obtained the sum eight million six hundred and ninety two thousand Leones(8,692,000) from the said complainant for the same Land on count three at the same place on the 23rd December 2021 with intent to defraud obtained the sum of six million nine hundred and seventy eight thousand Leones(6,978,000) from the said complainant for the said land on count four at the said office on the 6th January 2022 with intent to defraud obtained the sum of eight million and thirty six thousand Leones(8,036,000) from the said complainant for the same Land on count five and six at the same place on the 21st March 2022 with intent to defraud obtained the sum of twenty one million ten thousand Leones(21,010,000) on count seven the accused person obtained the said amount from the said complainant for the same Land.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty on both count charge.
Magistrate Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of one hundred million Leones or one surety in like sum surety must be resident in the western area in Freetown surety must be responsible citizen he or she should produce identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar.
Matter adjourned to the 21st June 2022 for further hearing and Deputy Superintendent of police Isatu Gbassy Fofanah prosecuting the Matter.
