Police Officers in Njala Mokonde in Moyamba District are investigating the alleged murdered of a 20 year old girl, Grace Lamboi whose corpse according to the officer in charge of the Njala Police Post, Inspector Ibrahim Bah was discovered around 6: 30 am on Tuesday June 7th, 2022 along Nyalahun section and Experimental School in Njala , by group of school going pupils.
She was a J.S.S. 3 pupil of the Gethsemane Secondary School in Mosongo who was also preparing to attempt the BECE examination this year.
Police sources say upon visiting the scene of Crime, they saw a motionless body with a female pant and black cap covered around her face with two mobile phones without sim cards and batteries in a bag believed to be hers.
Meanwhile, a suspect identified as Isaac Dimoh, a night guard working for Hughes Security deployed at the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Njala Branch and also alleged to have fall in love with the deceased is now helping the police with further investigation and the matter has been transferred to the Bo Police Station.
Speculations are rife that she was rapped to death and dumped in a nearby bush during the torrential downpour of rain and the proximity of the scene of crime is closer to the duty post of her former boyfriend who is alleged to have had an estranged relationship with the deceased months ago.
The mortal remains of Grace Lamboi have already been buried while a possible exhumation for post-mortem by a competent cause of death is underway.
In a separate development, a two day national conference of Paramount Chiefs has ended at the Thomas Saquee Resource Centre in Koakoyima section, Tankoro Chiefdom, Koidu City.
The National Conference of Paramount Chiefs is an annual event that is rotationally held in all the district across the Country in order to discuss issues for the betterment of the Council and the Chiefs themselves in the Country.
According to reliable information, Kono District is hosting this year’s National Conference after the last one was held during the tenure of Late President Siaka Probyn Stevens.
Meanwhile, owing to the importance of the said National Conference of Paramount Chiefs, the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone His Excellency Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio and His wife Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Mrs. Dr. Fatima Maada Bio served as guest of honour in the two days National Conference of Paramount Chiefs.
Among other activities President Bio officially swore in office by handing over the staff of authority to the newly elected Paramount Chiefs across the Country.
Singing, drumming and other cultural performances by different groups were in full attendance in this year’s National Conference of Paramount Chiefs at the Thomas Saquee Resource Centre, Koakoyima section, Tankoro Chiefdom, Koidu City, Kono District.
