Members of the Christ Deliverance Ministry Church situated at Towel Hill back of Parliament, has yesterday the 13th of June 2022, debunked malicious social media character assassination video directed at one of their elders in the church Mr. Lawrence Bassie of dating a divorced wife of one Military Sergeant Sahr James who has encroached on the Church Land.
In his statement, Pastor Joseph During of Christ Deliverance Ministry disclosed that the malicious video against the personality of Lawrence Bassie is baseless and misleading. Pastor Joseph During emphasized that the story attached to the said video is untrue of which, he thought it timely and necessary to set the record straight against one of his senior Member of the Church. Pastor During said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”.
He continued that the said video gallivanting on social media happened way back last year when the Church sent a delegation consisting of three elders and the senior pastor of the Church, to one sergeant Sahr James who is putting up a building on the right of way to the church. He furthered that the move made by the church delegation to face Sergeant Sahr James, only necessitated after several letters have been written to Sergent Sahr James in request of putting a stop on building a structure on the right of way of the church land which proved futile.
Pastor Joseph During also disclosed that Sergent Sahr James discountenanced the many letters written to him by the church which absolutely obliged the elders of the church to lead a delegation in order to address the issue. Among the delegation to Sergent Sahr James according to Pastor Joseph During were Mr. Laurence Bassi, two other elders of the church and the senior pastor of the church.
Pastor During also intimated that the arrival of the delegation was met with an uncontrollable resistance from thugs purported to be hired by Sergent Sahr James coupled with physical assault. He therefore, encouraged the general public to discredit any other unrelated story as to what transpired in November last year. He also considered such malicious character assassination coming from fragmented cabal of Sergent Sahr James purporting that Mr. Lawrence Bassie was fighting for a woman, as baseless, unfounded and very preposterous.
Also taking to A-Z Newspaper, Ann Mary Bassie, the wife of Lawrence Bassie, also asserted that she saw the compelling need to come out and refute the heinous character assassination directed at her husband in a particular social media video. She added that the video is purporting that her husband was fighting for another woman which is very untrue. She affirmatively stated that the abovementioned video was completely and maliciously taken out of context. Ann Mary Bassie reiterated that their church delegation went to Sergeant Sahr James who has encroached on the Church land for a meaning dialogue.
She added that no sooner the delegation alighted to the scene where Sergeant Sahr James is erecting a structure on the right of way of the church land, than the thugs of Sergent Sahr James, attacked his husband, removed his chain and tore his cloth. She disclosed that the thugs also attacked other members of the delegation coupled with derogatory statements directed at the delegation.
Ann Mary Bassie also intimated that she is married to Mr. Laurence Bassie for more than thirty years of which there has not been a single day someone has gossiped her husband of having an affair with another woman. “I have never seen or heard that my husband is dating another woman. My husband has too much respect for me and he is a man with integrity. If my husband did not fight for a woman when he was young, then I don’t see any reason for him to fight for one especially when he is in his 50s. This is very funny because this has never happened and it will never happen”, said Ann Mary Bassie.
She concluded by reiterating that the said video was completely and maliciously taken out of context. She acknowledged that the society is full of very gullible people who are quick to accept all such of misleading social media posts. She said people saw that gullibility as a means to put the hard earned reputation and credibility of her husband into disrepute. She maintained that the video has nothing to do with a woman but their church land that has been encroach on by a military Sergeant called Sahr James.
