Lecturer at the Animal Science Department, Njala University, Dr. Jesse Patrick N’yandebo and a medical nurse, Abigail Morana have met their untimely death being engulfed by fire on June 6, believed to have been caused by an electrical problem.
The couple were in their two bed room self-contained back house whilst the rest of the family were in the big house on Sella Street in Bo and it was raining cat and dog that night after Abigail had celebrated her birthday. According to the Regional Commander South Sheku Lahai, the cause of the fire could not be unconnected to electrical spark since there was heavy thunder storm. He said in their investigation, it was discovered that the houses were densely congested with four houses clustered together making it difficult for fire fighters to do their work.
Commander Lahai said they found the remains of two couples and their remains were conveyed to the Bo Government Hospital as police investigate the cause of their death.
The Local Unit Commander, Bo West Division,Sheku Tejan Kamara dispatched a patrol team who teamed up with community youths to put out the fire.
Community residents confirmed the light was fluctuating and the rain was quite heavy. Their presence at the scene that night when the house was burning saved the two vehicles that were parked near the burning house.
The residents expressed their condolences to the bereaved family recalling that their Nurse whose birthday was celebrated on Sunday passed away the following day.
