20yrs old Mohamed Marrah made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges ranging from Fraudulent conversion contrary to section 20 (1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 4th June 2022 at 62 Siaka Steven Street the western area in Freetown Fraudulently converted to your own use or benefit certain property that is to say one black infinix smart 4 mobile phone valued one million five hundred thousand Leones (1,500,000) and one black Lax power bank value two hundred thousand Leones (200,000) all to the total sum of one million seven hundred thousand Leones (1,700,000).
The sum was entrusted to him by Mohamed Moriba Suma for the purpose of safe keeping.
On count two at the same place and date the accused person converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say one black Tecno Spark3 mobile phone valued at one million three hundred thousand Leones (1,300,000) entrusted to him by Ibrahim Suma for the purpose of safe keeping
The charges were read and explained to the accused person No plea was taken
The accused person was unrepresented. However, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area.
Sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown one surety to be employed and bail to be approved by the Bench
The Matter is adjourned to 14th June 2022 for further hearing.
