24yrs old Abu Bakarr Suma made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges ranging from obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Law.
According to the particulars of offence on a date unknown between 15th March to 15th May 2022 at Sanya Town in the Tambaka Chiefdom in the Karene Judicial District the North East Region of the Republic of Sierra Leone with intent to defraud obtained from Desmond Komba Yamba the sum of forty four million two hundred thousand Leones(44,200,000) with the pretext that you have two hundred and twenty six Timber logs for sale knowing same to be false, and on count two at the same place and date with intent to defraud obtained from the said complainant the sum of twenty seven million two hundred thousand Leones (27,200,000) as transportation cost with the pretext of collecting two hundred and twenty six Timber logs (226) torn kamakwe to Freetown knowing same to be false.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty, and he was legally unrepresented.
However, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown matter adjourned to the 13th June 2022 for further hearing Deputy Superintendent of police Isatu Gbassy Fofanah prosecuting the Matter.
