The head of the National U-23 sides has on 2nd June 2022 invited 50 home base players ahead of the CHAN qualifiers that are set to kick off in July 2022.
The CHAN competition is for local base players and the tournament is set to take place in Algeria this year, the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship(CHAN) is the competition that brings together, players who compete in their domestic leagues. The previous edition took place in January and February 2021 in Morocco and saw Morocco being crowned as Champions.
Sierra Leone’s home-based national team will be seeking their first TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship that is set to be held in Algeria in 2022. The qualifiers will be played on a home and away bases and the winner of the two-leg will face Mail in the next qualifiers for a final spot in the tournament.
The Head Coach Francis Zappa Koroma and backroom staffs have invited these 50 home-based players to start training ahead of the qualifiers against Cape Verde Island.
The Technical team invited the (50) home players from the (18) Premier League clubs, and tens of players were invited from the East End Lions Football club ranging from one goalkeeper to two defenders, four midfielders, and one striker. The Newly-crowned Champion Bo Rangers football club has eleven players invited, seven players were invited from FC Kallon Football club, and three players are invited from Might Blackpool.
