Sierra Leone National U-17 (Sierra Stars) has on 2nd June 2022 departed for Liberia ahead of two international friendlies against Morocco at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

The delegation includes 12 officials and (22) players headed by the Vice President 2 of the Sierra Leone Football Association Alie Badara Tarawallie. The Sierra Stars are expected to engage their Moroccan counterparts on the 5th and 8th of June 2022.

Sierra Stars’ last outing was against Mail during the men’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when they were heavily defeated (5-0) by Mail at the Stade Lat Dior Thies Senegal during the CAF Championship qualifiers in February 2021.

The team enjoyed two weeks campaign in Makeni Before departing to Liberia for their two double-headers against Morocco. Sierra Stars remain the only Sierra Leone side to have participated in the FIFA U-17 competition after their impressive performance in the 2003 U-17 Africa qualifiers hosted in Swaziland and qualified for the World Cup finals in Finland.
