37yrs old Abass Sesay a business man made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on four court charges to wit Wounding Contrary to section 20 of the offences against the person Act 1861, Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861,Assault on police contrary to section 39 of the police Act No.7 of 1964 and Disorderly behaviour contrary to section 12 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965 as replaced and repealed by section 12 (a) of Act No15 of 1973.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 18th May 2022 at Waterloo police station in the Waterloo judicial district the western area in Freetown maliciously wounded police inspector Sheka Bangura on count two at the same place and date assaulted the said police inspector in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm on count three the accused person assaulted the said police inspector whilst in due execution of his lawful duty one count four at the same place and date the accused person did behave in a disorderly manner in a police station.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty.
J.J. Foday Esq representing the accused person adopts his application on the other file.
However, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional centre in Freetown, and matter adjourned to the 3rd June 2022 for further hearing, while Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy prosecuting the Matter.
