38yrs old Abass Sesay a business man and 34yrs old John Sima Bangura a Laborer made their third appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on three court charges to wit Wounding Contrary and assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence the first accused person Abass Sesay on the 18th May 2022 at ABB York road Waterloo the western area in Freetown maliciously wounded Mariama Juliet Thoronka, and on count two and three at the same place and date assaulted Adama Thoronka in a manner thereby occaisioning her actual bodily harm.

First Prosecution witness (PW1) Mariama Juliet Thoronka a business woman was led in evidence by police constable 15152 Harold Bala Turay. PW 1 said she recognized the accused persons as her neighbor and recalled the 18th May 2022 at that time she was heading to her parent meeting for her child when the accused person called her prostitute. The witness said she ignored him at that time because there were some people around at that time and later in the evening hours the accused person called her the same name.

 According to the witness the insult continued for some time that led to physical and verbal exchanges.

Later, a neighbor took her and her sister to the Waterloo police station on their arrival at the said station they saw the first accused person she made report and they were issued with police medical request form to her for examination and treatment.

PW1 said she went to Rukupa government hospital for treatment and the police medical request form was produced for identification.

Counsel representing the accused person Julia During adopted her previous Bail applications on behalf of the first accused person.

However, Magistrate Kekura granted the first accused person bail in the sum of one hundred million Leones or one surety in like sum surety must be resident in the western area in Freetown must be gainfully employed from a recognized institution should produce his or her employment letter should produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar bail continues for the second accused person.  Matter adjourned to the 15th June 2022 for further hearing.
