A high powered delegation from the Bank of Sierra Leone headed by the Deputy Bank Governor Dr. Ibrahim Lahai Steven who also doubles as the Director of Financial Institution and Supervisor of the aforementioned financial institution has paid a day working visit to Pujehun town in Pujehun District.
The one day working visit was to sensitize stakeholders and other members of the public of plans afoot by the Central Bank of Sierra Leone to redenominate the new currency that will soon be in circulation across the country.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Steven maintained that the redenomination of the Country’s currency is very important as such exercise only took place in 1964 noting since that time to now so many things to devalue the Country’s currency might have happened over the years. He called on all and sundry to be mindful and be careful with the said redenomination exercise as there are many 419ners hell-bent to disturb the process or defraud people. Meanwhile, similar engagement was also held in Koidu City over the weekend.
