On Friday 20th May 2022, a case of an alleged infanticide (murder) occurred at Njagbla community in Bo city.
The alleged infanticide occurred as a result of administering a corrosive substance, suspected to be caustic soda to Godsinah Humper, a one year- five months old baby girl by her biological mother Kadiatu Conteh.
The younger sister of suspect Isha and others took the child to the Bo government hospital for medical treatment but unfortunately, she died at the hospital.
The alleged suspect revealed that she was impregnated by Abu Sesay while she was in Freetown but he denied the pregnancy which urged her to return to Bo and lived with her mother Mariatu Jalloh.
She furthered that she had been under suppression by her mother Mariatu Jalloh on the bases that the child had no father. “The best way I thought I would manage the stress is for God to take the life of my baby or I killed her,” she added.
The deceased has been buried while the investigation is ongoing going at the Regional CID in Bo.
